Over the past few months we, as a community, in partnership with TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries, have been able to help many local people as a part of our Community Cause program. This month, we are helping a local family of seven, the Salgado’s consisted of two parents, two grandparents and three kids. Mom, Laura, is fighting cervical cancer and needs a hysterectomy as soon as possible.
Laura and her family rent a small two-bedroom home with one bathroom for the four adults and three children. Laura’s husband is a Day Laborer. They have three boys, ages 17, 11, and 4, who love soccer and Legos. Mrs. Salgado is a stay-at-home mom and during her free time she reads the bible. Her family attends church in the area.
The Salgado family just barely gets by, and now that Laura has received a diagnosis of cervical cancer, times are extremely tough. Any money that can be raised during this campaign will go towards the medical costs of this necessary surgery and funds to provide food for the family. Laura says that the most important thing we can do for her and her family is to pray for her health and for her family.
TOMAGWA accepts no government funding and is not a United Way agency. They are 100-percent donor supported and cultivate revenue streams from a variety of sources. Operation of TOMAGWA's main and satellite clinics costs more than $6,300 per day.
I've personally taken a tour of TOMAGWA and have seen how much this organization helps our neighbors in need, which is why Premier Insurance Advisors has continued to raise money for them. Without the help of our wonderful clients, family and friends, we would not be able to help the people we have been able to help thus far. Please consider donating a small amount to make a BIG difference for Laura and her family, and please keep them in your prayers.
Sincerely, Chris Draper
